A support page for peeps living with Bipolar Disorder, Brain fog, Anxiety & Depression by a Melbourne gal who has been battling these demons for 40 years. The more we talk about our "invisible" struggles, the more the stigmas will lift. They have to…………….. don't they? PLEASE SHARE MY BLOG, ADD YOUR COMMENTS & TELL US YOUR STORY..
Have you ever had a nagging feeling at the back of your mind .. you know, the one that says oh so quietly “I need more”? Not the voice that says “buy the shoes!” or “I need a holiday”. The voice that gnaws at you, bit by bit..
“I need more… life, more purpose.”
“Ssssh” you reply. “Be quiet, I’m too busy”.
“I have suffered too long and learnt too much to waste it… I need to help”
“Sssssssh! I can’t. I don’t know how to help. Go away”
Well I woke up a few weeks ago and accepted that the little voice was never going to leave. And it was getting louder.
“FFS I am GOING to help… Get up, we are doing this!”
So I took a deep breath and jumped into the blogging world! Today is the first day of a new beginning. It’s the first day of “BAD halo life”.
B for Bipolar
A for Anxiety
D for Depression
Most people with Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety or Depression will relate when I say that the mental illness haze is always swirling around & within the sufferer’s head. It can be like a halo of despair or darkness, fear or dread, confusion or fog. Or it can be a halo of bright light, flashing stars. Christ, sometimes it’s a mixture of everything! You understand the “halo” part. (I hope you didn’t think my “halo” was a religious reference. If so you should probably stop reading now… I tend to blaspheme a little and I don’t want to offend anyone)
This is a support page for people living the Bipolar, Anxiety and Depression life. It’s for those of you who are feeling the despair and alienation of having an “invisible” illness or for friends and family who want to understand more. I will try to offer you guys some help, not from a trained psychiatrist’s or psychologist’s viewpoint, but more from the experience of someone who has been living with these bastards for most of my 44 year old life. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had loads of psychiatric and psychological help along the way. But a psych can’t help much at 11pm at night when you’re surfing the net for answers. Maybe this page can..
